Take a trip down to the Lower East Side!
The Lower East Side is on the southeastern side of Manhattan. It’s rich in food, culture, history, awesome graffiti art, and tons of fun stuff for you to do!
Check out the Tenement Museum (97 Orchard St.). Take a guided tour of apartments that recreate immigrant life in the 19th and 20th centuries. Got a sweet tooth? Visit Economy Candy (108 Rivington St.). Feeding New Yorkers since 1937, it’s an inexpensive, old-fashioned, family-owned candy shop (chocolates, candies, nuts, dried fruits, halvah, sugar free candy, and sweets from back in the day).
