I’m currently recruiting math and reading coaches for a program called Let’s Get Ready that offers free SAT prep classes to high school students from low-income families in New York. As a coach you’ll have he opportunity to work directly with students over the course of the semester. We’ll provide you everything you need to make an important difference in the lives of underprivileged students, including books and lesson plans. You’ll be able to watch your students improve over the course of the program through practice tests at the beginning and end of the semester. This program allows you to dramatically improve your students’ chances of going to college. On average LGR students see their scores improve 110 points. The site is at the NYU medical center so free transportation to and from campus is provided via NYU “E” bus. Anyone is eligible but SAT scores of over 600 in the area you plan to coach is preferred. If accepted, you will coach either Monday or Thursday from 5:30-8:30pm. The actual day will depend on the subject you wish to coach.

I hope you will all take advantage of this great opportunity to make a difference and look forward to working with you.
